The Yummy Dough Story

Yummy Dough was invented one rainy afternoon by Sarah (8) and Luisa (5) while playing with regular play dough. Even though their parents told hem to not put the play dough in their mouths, they did it anyway. The result was an “Ugh!” from Luisa and a look of disgust.

Both girls agreed. “We need edible play dough!“ Together we started to mix a dough to our liking. It had to be kneadable, bakeable and edible! A few months and a few messy kitchens later, we finally had it.

A lot has happened since then. Essknete, the Yummy Dough in Germany, is produced by one of the leading manufactures of baking mixes in Germany, RUF Lebensmittelwerke KG, Quakenbrück. It is produced in accordance with strict guidelines (DIN EN ISO 9001, HACCP-concept). Only the best foods are used. The SGS Institute Fresenius performs quality and safety tests on a regular basis.

Yummy Dough encourages development and challenges kids. First, kids learn to prepare food in various steps, then they train and enhance their sensory and motor skills, as an on-going study from the University of Applied Science Fresenius indicates. Kids create new colours by mixing them and at the same time learn the rules of the colour theory through play.
